EMDR- what is it?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a scientifically-backed therapy designed to help people heal from past trauma and emotional distress.
It works by stimulating both sides of the brain through bilateral movements (such as guided eye movements or taps). This process helps the brain reprocess painful memories in a healthier way, reducing their emotional charge and allowing you to feel more at peace.
Traumatic memories are often "stuck" in the brain, which can lead to ongoing stress, anxiety, or unwanted emotional reactions. EMDR helps unlock these memories and reframe them, making them less overwhelming and easier to cope with.
Studies show that EMDR is highly effective for trauma and PTSD, and many people notice significant improvements after just a few sessions. It’s a gentle yet powerful approach that can support your healing and emotional well-being.
